Methodological developments for extended structural studies on MASSIF-3 beamline at the ESRF
MASSIF-3 is a microfocus state-of-the-art beamline, a part of the beamline cluster of the Structural Biology group at the ESRF. While operating at fixed energy and delivering beam of a fixed size the beamline is versatile and can carry out diverse crystallographic experiments. These include optical spectroscopy, time-resolved studies, room-temperature experiments, serial crystallography, fast crystal screening and detection – this is a non-exhaustive list of techniques required for an extended structural study of a biological macromolecule. In my talk I will focus on the methodological opportunities offered by the beamline instrumentation – in the context of techniques that are currently in use and also of those I would personally aim to develop.
