INVITATION

#ESRFscience LIVE WEBINAR:  17 JULY 2020 - 2.00 PM (CET)

Pushing the boundaries of macromolecular crystallography at EBS"

Presentation  by Daniele De Sanctis, ESRF scientist

During the last decades, structural biology had a major impact in illustrating the structure-functional aspects of some of the most important biomolecules. This success is also due to the evolution of macromolecular crystallography beamlines with several thousands of new structures being determined and complex biological processes being elucidated. The new ESRF Extremely Brilliant Source will allow to extend further the capabilities of the macromolecular crystallography beamlines and will open new pathways in the study of time-dependent structural changes. This is the scope of the new upgrade of ID29 beamline, the EBSL8 project, a new beamline entirely dedicated to serial crystallography experiments at room temperature. This webinar will present the new scientific opportunities offered at the ESRF beamlines and describe the characteristics of the new ID29.

All those interested are cordially invited to attend this online seminar.

The ESRF is organising a series of LIVE online seminars on the latest ESRF research. Our scientists will show examples of recent results of experiments carried out at the ESRF and will present what science EBS, the new Extremely Brilliant Source, will enable.

Funding: The organisation of this online seminar series is supported by STREAMLINE, a European project funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 870313.
